Silica Capillary Tubing

Molex's Silica capillary tubing is ideal for numerous applications throughout the medical and scientific industries, including gas chromatography with tubing and coils; capillary electrophoresis with tubing and windowed capillary; genomics with tubing, arrays, and assemblies for DNA sequencing; and fragment analysis including HID (human identification). Other applications include proteomics with tubing for capillary LC columns, fluid connections, and MS interfacing; microfluidics (including lab-on-a-chip) with tubing for fluid connections between nano-/micro-devices and macro environments; mass-flow control with precision-cut pieces for tightly controlled delivery of gases and fluids; and precision flow cells with custom tubing components for cytometry, liquid chromatography, and capillary electrophoresis.

Polymicro Technologies capillary tubing is available in a wide range of options, from thin-walled polyimide-coated flexible fused silica to thick-walled fused silica or quartz tubes without coating. Flexible synthetic fused silica capillary tubing is manufactured across a range of internal diameters, from less than 1 µm to over 2,000 µm. A standard capillary is fabricated from synthetic fused silica preforms using sophisticated draw towers and following closely controlled manufacturing processes. The outside diameter typically ranges from 90 µm to >3,500 µm. In most applications, an external polymer coating is applied to protect the silica outer surface from abrasion.
