By Maxim Integrated 118
Maxim’s Himalaya series of voltage regulator power modules allows for cooler, smaller, and simpler power supply designs. MAXM17574, MAXM17575, and MAXM17761 are easy-to-use power modules that combine a synchronous step-down DC-DC converter, fully shielded inductor, and compensation components all in a low-profile, thermally-efficient, system-in-package (SiP). These devices require minimal external components to complete a total power solution. With the high level of integration, the devices reduce design complexity, manufacturing risks, and offer a true plug-and-play power-supply solution allowing for reduced time-to-market. The modules have excellent line and load regulation over their select output voltage range. The devices can operate over the full industrial temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.
The MAXM17574 has an output voltage range of 0.9 V to 15 V, operates over an input-voltage range of 4.5 V to 60 V, and delivers up to 3 A continuous output current. The device can be operated in pulse-width modulation (PWM) or discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). The MAXM17574 is available in a low-profile, highly thermal-emissive, compact, 33-pin, 9 mm x 15 mm x 2.92 mm SiP package.
The MAXM17575 has an output voltage range of 0.9 V to 12 V, operates over an input-voltage range of 4.5 V to 60 V and delivers up to 1.5 A continuous output current. It offers resistor-programmable switching frequency, active-low RESET output-voltage monitoring, adjustable input undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and programmable soft-start. The device also features hiccup-mode overload protection, and thermal shutdown function. The MAXM17575 is available in a low-profile, highly thermal-emissive, compact, 28-pin 6.5 mm x 10 mm x 2.92 mm SiP package.
The MAXM17761 has an output voltage range of 0.8 V to 5 V, operates over a wide input voltage range of 4.5 V to 76 V, and delivers up to 1 A continuous output current. The device offers resistor programmable switching frequency, active-low RESET output voltage monitoring, adjustable input undervoltage lockout, and programmable soft-start. It also features robust overload protection and a thermal shutdown function. The MAXM17761 is available in a low-profile, highly thermal-emissive, compact, 28-pin 6.5 mm x 10 mm x 2.92 mm SiP package.
