By Vishay/Siliconix 115
Vishay's SiP12116 is a high-frequency CM-COT synchronous buck regulator with integrated high- and low-side power MOSFETs. Its power stage is capable of supplying up to 3 A of continuous current at a 650 kHz switching frequency. The regulator produces an adjustable output voltage down to 0.6 V from 4.5 V to 15 V input rails to accommodate a variety of applications. The SiP12116’s CM-COT control delivers ultra-fast transient response and low ripple over the full load range with minimum output capacitance and no ESR requirements. The device features a built-in soft-start of 1 ms while offering design simplicity with minimal external components and integrated compensation. Only seven external components are needed to complete a 3 A buck regulator design in a total of 100 mm2.
The device offers a full protection set, including cycle-by-cycle current limit, short-circuit protection (SCP), over-temperature protection (OTP), and input under-voltage lockout (UVLO). Designed to meet the nVidia OpenVreg Type-0 specifications, the SiP12116 is available in the 3 mm x 3 mm DFN10 package with thermal pad.
