ON Semiconductor Critical-Mode PFC/Quasi-Resonant Current-Mode PWM Controllers combine a power factor correction (PFC) controller and a quasi-resonant PWM controller. The integration of these devices provides cost-effective design and reduces external components. For the PFC, theFAN6920 and FAN6921 use a controlled on-time technique to provide a regulated DC output voltage and perform natural power-factor correction. For the PWM, both of these Critical-Mode PFC/Quasi-Resonant Current-Mode PWM Controllers provide several functions to enhance the power system performance: valley detection, green-mode operation, and high/low line over power compensation. These devices are ideal for applications such as AC/DC NB adapters, open frame SMPS and battery charger.Learn More
