82563 Gigabit Ethernet Controllers
Intel's 82563 Gigabit Ethernet Controllers are dual, compact Physical Layer Transceiver (PHY) components designed for 10/100/1000Mb/s operation. These devices use the Kumeran interface port of the 631xESB/632xESB I/O Controller Hub enabling the routing of long distances up to 28 inches (~711mm). These allow for Gigabit Ethernet implementations in a very small package; easing routing constraints from the 631xESB/632xESB I/O Controller Hub to the PHY. The 82563 devices are based upon proven PHY technology integrated into Intel’s Gigabit Ethernet Controllers. The physical layer circuitry provides a standard IEEE 802.3 Ethernet interface for 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T applications (802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3ab).
