Intel's Mobile Express Chipsets deliver a platform controller hub with extensive I/O support. Intel's platform controller hub (PCH) connects Intel processors with a motherboard via the Flexible Display Interface (FDI) and Direct Media Interface (DMI). The PCH Display Interface integrates the latest display technologies such as HDMI, DisplayPort, Embedded DisplayPort, Intel SDVO, and DVI, along with legacy display technologies. The PCH interfaces with the PCI Express Root Ports and supports the PCI Express Rev. 2.0, and supports a wide number and variety of port widths. Serial ATA is also supported, along with Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI), Intel Rapid Storage Technology, and Intel Smart Response Technology. Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controllers are available up to USB 3.0, and a Gigabit Ethernet Controller is available as well. Enhanced power management is included and permits software independent entrance into low-power states, and includes Intel Active Management Technology (AMT). Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O supports the virtualization of platforms based on Intel Processors, and enables multiple operating systems and applications to run in independent partitions.
