ISL94212 Multi-Cell Li-ion Battery Manager ICs
Renesas ISL94212 Multi-Cell Li-ion Battery Manager ICs are designed to perform accurate monitoring, cell balancing, and extensive system diagnostics functions. These ICs can supervise up to 12 series connected cells. The ISL94212 ICs feature three cell balancing modes including manual balancing mode, auto balance mode, and timed balancing mode. When a charge transfer value has been met, the auto balance mode terminates balancing functions. The ISL94212 communicates to a host microcontroller via an SPI interface and to other ISL94212s using a robust, proprietary, two-wire daisy chain system. Typical applications include Light Electric Vehicle (LEV), Energy Storage Systems (ESS), solar farms, portable, and semi-portable equipment.

Renesas Electronics Li-ion Battery Management ICs are an entire range of battery management ICs that address the needs of handheld devices, Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs), laptops, power tools, and many others. This is accomplished with fully integrated solutions for compact applications and with charge controllers for higher power applications. These devices include 3-to-8 Cell Li-ion Battery Pack Monitors (ISL94203), 4-to-6 Cell Li-ion Battery Management Analog Front-End (ISL94208), and Multi-Cell Li-Ion Battery Managers (ISL94212).
