The NCP1596A is a current mode PWM buck converter with integrated power switch. It can provide up to 1.5 A output current with high conversion efficiency. High frequency PWM control scheme can provide a low output ripple noise. Thus it allows the usage of small size passive components to reduce the board space. In a low load condition the controller will automatically change to PFM mode which provides a higher efficiency at low load. This device is available in a compact 3x3 DFN package.
XRP6657 PWM Synchronous Step Down Converter
MaxLinear XRP6657 PWM Synchronous Step Down Converter is a high-efficiency PWM synchronous step-down DC to DC converter delivers a guaranteed 1.5A output current and is optimized for portable battery-powered applications. The MaxLinear XRP6657 uses a constant 1.3MHz frequency PWM scheme that allows for compact external components, low output voltage ripple, and fixed frequency noise. This step-down converter provides up to 95% efficiency and an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. The XRP6657 also has a Pulse Skip Mode (PSM) that is used to improve light load efficiency and a low dropout mode that provides 100% duty cycle operation.
